"There are certain ingredients in many acne cleansers that absolutely shouldn't and should be avoided during pregnancy, especially common ingredients like salicylic acid."


He continued, pregnant women need to consider a softer content. For example, facial cleansers that have low levels of glycolic acid or benzoyl peroxide.



"This can safely remove dead skin cells and reduce bacteria on the surface of the face," he added.
